Reflecting back on a weekend well spent traipsing from yarn shop to shop while skipping over the puddles between showers, the second Triangle Yarn Crawl has come to a close.
With each event, we strive to offer something new to keep things fresh and innovative, and the Spring 2012 event was no different. Crawlers were:
- Introduced to Mebane’s very cute but not too pink, The Twisted Knitter.
- Registered online through Eventbrite so the organizers could better gauge interest and participation.
- Joined fellow crawlers during the ever promising Food Drive Meet & Greet.
This weekend’s weather may have posed a challenge for some but the crawlers were definitely noticeable around town with their crawl passports in-hand and future projects in mind as they searched for the perfect yarn.
Stashes grew thanks to some great sales and helpful shop attendants. Curiosity blossomed with demonstrations given by Esther Rodgers of Jazzturtle Creations and Mary Ann of Three Waters Farm, just to name two.
A big THANK YOU goes out to all of our wonderful sponsors who made this event possible.
All nine participating Triangle-area yarn shops: Admit Ewe Knit, Cozy, DownTown Knits, Great Yarns, Hillsborough Yarn Shop, Shuttles Needles & Hooks, The Twisted Knitter, Yarn Etc…, and Yarn Tree Studio.
Each yarn shop received a tote full of goodies from our generous Sponsors.
And each tote included one of these handmade accessory bags contributed by the organizers.
Find out who the lucky winners were of these great raffle prizes. Winners will continue to be announced as names become available.
What a joy it has been to share our love of fiber crafts with the Triangle-area community. Thank you for participating and we hope to see you during a future crawl or maybe even sooner at a knit night/meet-up.
